This book takes you to sites related to the remarkable story of the opposition to South Africa's apartheid system, a saga that culminated in the country's transition to non-racial democracy in the early 1990s. It seems ironic, perhaps, that such a turbulent and painful past should have produced some of the best opportunities available for tourism and travel.
